Hong Kong

Located south to Guangdong Province and southeast to the mouth of the Pearl River, Hong Kong is about 140 kilometers from Guangzhou City. It is made up of Hang Kong Island, Jiulong Peninsula, New Territories and surrounding small islands, with a total area of more than 1000 square kilometers. Among the 6.78 million residents in Hong Kong, 96 per cent are Chinese. Chinese and English are used in Hong Kong.
 
Hong Kong has been part of the territory of China since ancient times. After the Opium War in 1840, the Kong to Great Britain as a colony, upon Hong Kong's return back to China on July 1, 1997, it was made a Special Administrative Region, and the policy of "One country, Two systems" has been successfully implemented from then on Hong Kong is a major center for finance, manufacturing, transporting, commerce and trade. As the Pearl of the Orient, it is also a popular tourist attraction, and is reputed as a shopper's and tourist's paradise, recommended attractions on this wonderful area are Ocean Park, Song Dynasty Town, Victoria Park, Hong Kong Park, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, Aw Boon Haw Garden, and so on.
